AstroAid is a comprehensive application designed for amateur astronomers, offering valuable assistance in visualizing celestial objects through telescopes or camera lenses. It allows users to simulate the viewing experience with specific eyepieces and optional optical aids, like a Barlow lens. Additionally, users can pair cameras or imagers with telescopes to preview the captured frames, catering especially to astro-imagers.
The app calculates various parameters for telescope configurations, including magnification, actual field of view, visual magnitude limit, and more, presenting these details in a structured tabular format.
Featuring a selection of astronomical catalogs such as Messier, NGC, IC, and others, AstroAid ensures users have access to up-to-date online catalog updates and the ability to download images of cataloged objects. Moreover, it offers robust search functionality across all included catalogs.
